2010 Skills Clinic A Success!

CALL hosted its second annual baseball skills clinic fundraiser on February 6, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Fernando Perez and Gabe Kapler, members of the 2009 Tampa Bay Rays were the featured instructors. Over 40 children participated in the clinic, including a group of Little Leaguers who were visiting Los Angeles from Korea!
As usual, CALL's own Wil Aaron led the way, coordinating the various hitting, fielding and throwing drills which form the foundation of a fundamental approach. Players enjoyed personal instruction, a tasty lunch and beverages supplied by Zico and Hint, two of Fernando's sponsors.
Special thanks to Fernando Perez, who flew himself from New York City, just to conduct this clinic. As the first Ivy League Latino graduate to play in the Major Leagues, Fernando is an idealrole model for all children. Please join the CALL family in praying for Fernando as he continues rehabilitation from a severe wrist injury in 2009 and battles for a spot on the 2010 Rays. Go, FernanSpeedo!!!
